holiday wish list

I updated my Amazon Wish list a few weeks ago and it makes me happy just looking at it. Obviously I'm in to oxfords this season. There is a good mix of pretty things for the home and wardrobe, crafting tools, and household gadgets. Here are just a few of them. It was so hard to pick which ones to share!

1. A nifty collapsable salad spinner from Bed Bath & Beyond, 2. some cute bow flats from Nordstroms, 3. A fun crafty large circle hole punch, 4. Away too expensive for right now but would love to have flash 5. These Chelsea Crew oxfords I've wanted for over a year but are also too pricey for me to justify buying myself

my sister and i are going on a grand tour of europe tomorrow! here are a few of our planned stops along the way. i can't wait, it is going to be the trip of a lifetime. i'll share pictures when i get back of course.

her dream dress

hello lovely,
i had a lovely weekend. i got to accompany my friend allison and her bridesmaids and mom to go pick out her wedding dress. im technically a groomsmaid but she was sweet enough to ask me to tag along. allison walked away with her dream dress. it was the one she knew she wanted from the start and she looked beautiful of course. here are a few photos from the day. i tried to do a day in photos but got wrapped up in all the great shopping. we went to anthropologie, urban outfitters, original penguin, crate and barrel, and my favorite... paper source! i of course was cheap and came away with one towel, but still it was fun to window shop.
hope you managed to stay cool and have a nice weekend. it was 107 degrees here. ugh!

urban ruins

hello lovely,

i don't usually post things that aren't about fashion or my life, but i just had to share these images with you. i've started to enjoy looking up images of urban ruins. it feels like you are staring at post apocalyptic images. there are so many large abandoned structures around the world that look like someone just locked the door and walked away. the most amazing are the images of abandoned theme parks. apparently japan has a dozen of them. one of my favorites are these images abandoned theaters. in my wonderings i've discovered there is a word for my new obsession. apparently its a form of "archi-tourism"or "urban exploration." i've pulled a few of my favorite images i've found in my searches. take some time and look some of these up yourself. let me know if you any i haven't seen. i love these! hope you do too.

*please note though i enjoy these images it makes me sad to see what we as humans have left behind. we tore up all of this earth to build something we just cast aside so we can make a newer strip mall or theme park or theatre or what have you

the travel bug

Muir Woods 2011

hello lovely,

as i sit on my couch watching my husband battle some sort of man with a dragon head... i can't help but wish i was on an adventure of my own. (but a real one) i've been lucky enough in my short years on this planet so far to see some pretty amazing places, eat some fantastic food, and meet some unique people. this summer my sister and i are planning to backpack europe as part of her graduation present. we are hoping to go to Austria, France, England, & Ireland. i can't wait. it has been a long time since i've traveled like that. just me, a map, my backpack, and a good friend. this will definitely be a bonding trip for bubbie and i. i mark this as our first adventure together as adults. just 2 bubbies and the world. in the meantime, i'll just remenice over these photos and remember past adventures.

adventure is out there!
