stitched with love

and they lived happily ever after.

Last weekend this bachelorette became a bride! Allison had several hand stitched details that really set the tone for the intimate homemade feel she wanted for the wedding. She had embroidery hoop table numbers and a basket of stitched hearts for guests to wear if they wanted to "wear their hearts on their sleeve." I gifted her a stitched wedding topper and i'm really pleased with the final product. it looked adorable in that amazing cake! Can't wait to see Tim Ivey's amazing photos of the big day!

congrats love birds!

sewing date: the roommates make a circle skirt

hello lovely,
i had a sewing date with my college roommate a few weeks ago. taylor and i have always bonded over our love of all things crafty. it was easier to find time to craft when we lived together, but we don't get to see each other as much these days. that just made this craft date even more special. we decided to make the circle skirt from made. i took a few pictures of the journey. the skirts turned out pretty cute and the tutorial was really simple to follow. the hardest part was making the pattern! but, once it is made you can use it over and over again to make more lovely fun skirts. you should try it out!

this looks simple enough. but don't be fooled. this took us a good hour to make. it was the toughest part though and once you make this one you can use it over and over again so don't give up.

i chose a springy seersucker

taylor chose a sassy print of course

aren't they cute? i want to make another one soon.

happy crafting!

craft date: sewing with friends ♥

hello lovely!
wow. we have done so much this week! i have so many blog posts to share with you. all in good time....but first...
bonnie from creations by bonnybee came over for a sewing date. bonnie and i have known each other since 1st grade and both grew up to love crafting. since we both blog, craft, and sell our creations, we thought it would be fun to team up on a project. for our craft date bonnie brought over materials to make jersey endless scarves. i've worn mine just about every day since we made them. the project was fun and easy to do! part of the fun was seeing the differences in our "creative process."  you might not get as much done when you craft with a friend, but it is definitely fun to work with someone who shares your same passion. here are some photos from our craft date. i highly recommend having one yourself!
