kitsch wish list

hello lovely,
i have a problem. in my heart i believe less is more. i want to live simply and have less clutter. BUT deep deep within i'm also obsessed with kitschy nick-nacks. i can't help it. i want an army or ceramic deer, any odd shaped planter you can think of, and everything in between. as you can see these are two very conflicting ideals. so, i will live out my kitschy dream here on the blog and save the husband some extra dusting. all of these can be found on etsy if you can't life without it. just save the plate for me please.
enjoy,
alyssa renee

fire pit inspirations

hello lovely,
the husband and i are thinking of building up our fire pit in the back yard. bonfires are fun to have year round and we have a great space for it in our yard. this summer we will be doing a lot of entertaining and i think this extra addition will make our yard even more fun. right now we have a grill, hammock, patio furniture and a patio dining area. hoping to plant some flowers soon and maybe even a horseshoe pit. here are some images that are inspiring this outdoor project.  be sure to check out the original posts for the ones you like. some of these have great DIY instructions for you to follow. i'll be sure to post pics once we build our own.
xoxo,

our house: a design in progress

hello lovely,
we've been in the house for months now but i still haven't posted any pictures of the finished product. well, that is because it still isn't styled exactly the way i'd like it to be ultimately... but it looks cute enough to share a few! and since it is christmas there are a few cute christmas things for you to enjoy too. we love our new home. it is just right for us. we have plenty of space to entertain guests, and captain especially loves all the space to run around. here are a few pics of our humble abode.
enjoy.

and just a bonus... i found this on a blog i read...

take a tension curtain rod and hand your spray bottles on it under the sink. it saves a ton of room!
